How do I activate my trial?
Your 7-day trial activates automatically the first time you launch the app. No account or credit card required.
The app says my system doesn't meet requirements. What should I do?
Make sure you have at least 8 GB of available RAM and 10 GB of free disk space. Close other applications to free up memory. For best performance, we recommend 16 GB of available RAM.
How do I process a PDF?
Click "Upload PDF" on the landing page or drag and drop a PDF file into the app window. The app will automatically process the document and make it ready for AI questions.
Can I use this without an internet connection?
Yes! After installation, Ask PDF Offline works completely offline. All processing happens locally on your device.
Where is my data stored?
All data is stored locally on your computer. Your PDFs and AI interactions never leave your device. There are no cloud servers or external databases.
How do I transfer my license to a new computer?
Contact support with your license key and the hardware IDs of both your old and new computers. We'll help you transfer the activation.
Does the application support other languages than English?
The AI is optimized for English-language documents.
Documents in other languages may work, but are not officially supported and results may vary,
Does Ask PDF Offline support scanned PDFs or images?
Currently, Ask PDF Offline does not support OCR (Optical Character Recognition). This means it works best with PDFs that contain actual text, not scanned images of documents.
Current limitations:
- Scanned PDFs or image-based PDFs are not included in the AI chat context
- Best results come from native digital PDFs (created from Word, Excel, etc.)
Page citation notes:
- Page numbers in citations refer to PDF page indices (1, 2, 3...), not printed page numbers
- Image-only or empty pages are tracked but don't contribute text to the AI's context
- Page citations may not be perfectly accurate due to PDF text extraction complexities
How do I update to the latest version?
The app will notify you when updates are available. Click "Download Update" to get the latest version. Your license and data are preserved during updates.
How do I cancel my subscription?
You can cancel anytime through the Lemon Squeezy customer portal. After purchasing, you'll receive an email with a link to manage your subscription. You can also access it from the app settings. When you cancel, you'll retain access until the end of your current billing period.
Can I get a refund?
We offer a 7-day free trial so you can fully evaluate the app before purchasing. If you're not satisfied within 30 days of purchase, contact support for a refund.
Where can I manage my subscription and billing information?
You can manage your subscription, update payment methods, view invoices, and access billing history through the Lemon Squeezy customer portal. You'll receive access to this portal via email after your purchase, or you can find the link in your app settings.
The AI is giving incorrect answers. How can I improve accuracy?
The AI works best with well-formatted PDFs containing actual text (not scanned images). PDFs with complex layouts may produce less accurate results.
Tips for better accuracy:
- Use native digital PDFs (created from Word, Excel, etc.) rather than scanned documents
- Ask more specific questions
- Reference specific sections or topics in your questions
- Note: Page citations may not always be perfectly accurate due to PDF text extraction complexities
